Dallmeyer Tailboard Camera
Made by J.H. Dallmeyer of London, Circa 1885
4" x 5" Dry-Plate camera with a brass J.H. Dallmeyer lens with rotating stops. This is a fine example of British craftsmanship, with inlaid brass on a mahogany body, all brass screws perfectly aligned. The maker's ivory name plate is on the top. The front panel rises and shifts. This beautiful showpiece comes with 6 matching "booktype" plate holders, also brass bound with ivory inlaid numbers.
The red leather bellows are cracked in several places, otherwise the camera is in very good condition.
